Who is Estée Lauder?

Estée Lauder is one of the oldest and most well-known fragrance brands worldwide and has been producing beautiful fragrances for men and women since its launch in 1946.

Estée and her husband started small with just four products but soon realised that they had tapped into a lucrative market and by 1948 the company had secured its first department store account with Saks Fifth Avenue in New York.

Lauder started her business from scratch, by selling skincare products to beauty salons and hotels and became highly successful with her sales.
She then passed on her wisdom and expertise to her beauty advisors until her death in 2004.
In 1953, the first women’s perfume by Estée Lauder was introduced, entitled ’Youth Dew’ and it also doubled up as bath oil, which soon became the post-war luxury that everyone wanted to get their hands on. Today, Estée Lauder has over 80 perfumes and aftershaves – the majority are for women, although there is a handful for men and a couple that are unisex.
